Hello,
I’m Meena Alexander.
I’m an award-winning journalist and editor.
I write about people, places and what’s bubbling beneath the surface of our cultural moment. If you need a fascinating long-read, refreshingly frank interview or an editorial expert with 10 years’ of experience on your side, I’m your woman.
Formerly the Associate Editor of Stylist, I’ve also held roles at The Times, consulted on non-fiction books, judged literary prizes and hosted live panels.
I don’t have a niche because I’m too nosy. I’ve profiled everyone from Dame Helen Mirren and Bernardine Evaristo to Cara Delevingne and Malala. I’ve travelled to LA to infiltrate the notoriously secretive Barbie HQ, interviewed 100 women for a feature on body image, and launched national media campaigns to push the needle on miscarriage care and violence against women.
I’m the author of How To Be Curious: Ideas To Make You Think Differently, which was published by Headline Books in 2024.
In 2023 I was named Best Section Editor by the British Society Of Magazine Editors and appeared on the Professional Publishers Association’s Next Gen list. The year before that, I was one of Campaign’s Media 30 Under 30. I barely mention it, promise.
